AIM
The Ultimate aim of E-COOL is to a direct-contact spray system that considers the specifics of e-motor geometry layout in a bespoke manner. The breakthrough cooling technology will be achieved in four Work Packages (WPs) by integrating two scientific interdisciplinary activities:
(1) Development and formulation of novel oil-based, dilute polymer solutions of non-Newtonian nature, which, when employed in spray-cooling thermal management systems, will be a disruptive technology by enhancing significantly the achieved cooling rate.
(2) Implementation of a universal design methodology for the cooling systems optimized with the aid of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, trained against accurate ‘ground-truth’ experimental and numerical data also to be obtained within E-COOL
